In preparation for their Personal Investigation project next year, Year 12 Fine Art students have completed a project based on an area of interest from a selection of past exam paper questions.
They have really enjoyed developing their independent thinking and research skills and exploring in more depth the materials and techniques that were of most interest to them. The final outcomes involved a range of techniques such as oil and acrylic paints, cyanotypes, casting methods, collage and stitch and assemblage. We can’t wait to see what they go on to produce during their Y13 project!

Over the summer term, our students who were moving on to A level Fine Art this September were asked to produce a series of work based on the theme of Still Life and objects founds around their home. Here is some of the fantastic artwork that they produced, using whatever materials they had to hand.

Year 12 have been working on projects based on a theme of their choice in preparation for their Year 13 Personal Investigation next year.
They have enjoyed experimented with a range of different materials and techniques and investigating the work of both historical and contemporary artists.

GCSE and A Level work will be on show, as well as the Year 8 Lakes project.

Year 13 were asked to produce a large A1 tonal drawing related to their chosen area of focus, in which they explored a range of materials and techniques such as charcoal, coffee, tea, ink and pencil.
We have also photographed their wonderful mark-making experiments and visual diaries kept over the summer.
