Year 11 recently sat their five hour practical mock exam. I was incredibly impressed with the level of creativity, focus and practical skill that they evidenced in that time, resulting in this excellent range of selected outcomes below. They should all be very proud of themselves.

The Big Draw is the world’s largest drawing festival with thousands of drawing activities connecting people of all ages with museums, outdoor spaces, artists, designers illustrators, and each other.
This year’s theme for the festival is: ‘Make the Change’ and the festival is asking people to explore the relationship between people and our living environments through Art; this could focus on climate change, where you live, recycling or sustainability.
Some of our KS3 students have chosen to make a piece of art in response to this brief, you can see their wonderfully creative submissions below. Well done to all those who took the time to produce a piece of work at home.

In preparation for their Personal Investigation project next year, Year 12 Fine Art students have completed a project based on an area of interest from a selection of past exam paper questions.
They have really enjoyed developing their independent thinking and research skills and exploring in more depth the materials and techniques that were of most interest to them. The final outcomes involved a range of techniques such as oil and acrylic paints, cyanotypes, casting methods, collage and stitch and assemblage. We can’t wait to see what they go on to produce during their Y13 project!
