Throughout Term 3, the Art department ran a series of optional Art challenges for Year 7 – an illuminated letter design about their personal identity, a creative photograph celebrating the work of the NHS, and the googly eye challenge. The students produced some fantastic work – it is lovely to see how creative they are being whilst at home!

8LG4 have created these beautiful clay leaves based on their experiences in the Lake District earlier this term. Students carved the leaves in clay and then painted them with acrylic paint; we think they look beautiful!

Year 7 have been working on a new project based on the Mexican festival, Día de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead). The multi-day celebration focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember loved ones who have died, and help support their spiritual journey.

Year 7 have made a brilliant start in Art with these beautiful observational drawings of insects. Learning about tone and shade, students have sensitively drawn the bugs with care and precision. Great work 7X3; keep it up!
