In preparation for their Personal Investigation project next year, Year 12 Fine Art students have completed a project based on an area of interest from a selection of past exam paper questions.
They have really enjoyed developing their independent thinking and research skills and exploring in more depth the materials and techniques that were of most interest to them. The final outcomes involved a range of techniques such as oil and acrylic paints, cyanotypes, casting methods, collage and stitch and assemblage. We can’t wait to see what they go on to produce during their Y13 project!

Year 7 looked at insects for their first project in Art this year. The final part of the project tasked students to create a mini clay bug inspired by Japanese Netsuke sculptures. Students were taught how to design these using charcoal and then shown mark making into clay in order to produce these wonderful outcomes below.

Year 12 have been working on projects based on a theme of their choice in preparation for their Year 13 Personal Investigation next year.
They have enjoyed experimented with a range of different materials and techniques and investigating the work of both historical and contemporary artists.
